Anybody
who is interested in really getting a feel for Thailand and getting
to know the country has to rent a house and live in a Muban. A
“Muban” is the Thai word used for housing estate, gated community
or suburb. Almost all housing estates in Thailand are made of
detached or semi-detached houses which are each built by the owner
himself. Mubans are generally newer and are built just outside the
built-up areas of the city. It is possible to rent a house in Pattaya but this usually means have to sacrifice things like
a garden or a garage. Most foreigners prefer to rent houses in
suburban mubans as the houses are generally more modern and spacious.
